  We've been a customer of Design Tech simply because they're partnered with the builder of our new home (Beazer). We've had so many issues with them, many of which have been either (a) poor communication/planning within their company and/or (b) poor customer service. They've had to come to our house multiple times to fix issues that were their fault - even though the contract explicitly stated what we paid for, they left out multiple items completely, and the majority of the items they did install were faulty and needed replacement. Working with them to get a contract of services was a pain in itself - the person who was in charge of our contract would disappear with no responses to phone or email for days or weeks at a time. One of the many maintenance calls was done by someone who was new on the job and was not even trained yet on the equipment. Not surprisingly, he did not install it correctly. He also did not bring the equipment needed to finish the job, and did not show up until much later than his designated time. Most of the people who have shown up to fix the issues were not properly trained on the equipment. In fact, one of them was supposed to give me a run-through of how to use the intercom system, and half the things he stated were wrong. (I realized this after reading the manual after his service call.) Another appointment that we had was completely blown off - nobody showed up, nobody called. I tried to call their office only to go straight to a voicemail service, and nobody returned my call. If you can, AVOID. We tried to be patient with them, but they are awful! [Edit] Changed from 2 stars to 1... Was trying to be somewhat nice still, but in the meantime we have had 2 more visits by techs and they have only managed to break the system even more each visit.
